James Blake never fails to keep me entranced.
Even though Overgrown was an amazing album, I had preferred the post-dubstep of his previous album, the minimalist production nature of his songs and the effortless way in which he seemed to harmonise random sounds.
In his latest set during his Residency at BBC 1 Radio, he debuted Building It Still, a seemingly throwback to his earlier sounds. The tremor of the bass was a welcome relief to my ears as nostalgia washed over me. If his next album is quiet and soulful, mixed with post-dubstep, I’m completely sold.
Sadly the song didn’t reach much of a climax before ending anti-climatically.
